Protection for your possessions

You’ve spent a lifetime collecting personal possessions and furnishings that have both intrinsic and sentimental value.  We offer several options for protecting your goods during the move.  The one you select sets the limits of your mover’s liability for any loss or damage to your belongings.  American Red Ball provides two valuation choices: Limited Liability and Full Replacement Value Protection.

  • Limited Liability is protection for your belongings based on the weight per article and is included in your basic transportation costs.
  • Full Replacement Value Protection allows you to value your goods at their full replacement cost, without depreciation. The fee for this protection is then based on that value. Your possessions are guaranteed against loss or damage based on the total value declared when you purchase Full Value Protection. Ask your moving consultant to further explain these options to you. A resource brochure is also located in the back of this brochure.

Another important safeguard for your treasured and valuable belongings is to prepare a High Value Inventory that identifies any possession with a value of more than $100 per pound. Collectibles, antiques, CD/DVD collections, and electronics are just a few examples of items that fall into the high value category. (A resource with additional information regarding valuation is in the back of this brochure.) Our Security Plus System is designed specifically for these high value possessions when you purchase the Full Value Protection. Customers are given state-of-the-art, tamper-proof security seals to provide a worry-free assurance for high value boxes. American Red Ball was the first van line to provide this protection which has now become an industry standard.
